Lupe Cruz entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on May 26, 2026 at the tender age of 60. He was born in Ganado, Texas on July 2, 1965 to parents, Virginia Marines and Guillermo Cruz, he was the oldest of three children. Lupe was a hardworking and dependable man whose kindness, loyalty, and talent left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Lupe graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1983. After his graduation, he started moving into a deep appreciation for old cars and took great pride in working on them and caring for his own. For him, cars were more than machines; they were a passion, a craft, and a connection to the people around him. He worked as a mechanic for over 15 years. A skilled mechanic by trade, Lupe had a natural gift for understanding cars. He was often the very first-person family and friends would call when something went wrong with their vehicle. Those closest to him joked that he could diagnose a problem simply by hearing the sound of the engine—even over the phone. His knowledge, patience, and willingness to help made him someone people could always count on.
Beyond his talents, Lupe will be remembered most for the way he loved others. He formed deep and lasting friendships, and once someone became his friend, they were a friend for life. Loyal to the core, he gave his all whenever he could, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer support, or simply be there when someone needed him. He lived with a generous spirit and a quiet strength that made people feel valued and cared for.
Lupe will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Virginia and Guillermo Cruz; and friend, Jorge Villareal.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Laura Cruz; sons, Lupe Casas and Antonio Casas; fur children, Charlie, Bear, Max, Rosie and Molly. Grandchildren, Jay Bella, Evelynn; siblings, Guillermo Cruz Jr. (Rebecca) and Elizabeth Cruz. Brother-in-law that became his brothers, Richard Delgado “Richie” and David Delgado and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
