Grandma,

At the time of this obituary being posted, I really had no idea of what to say. All of us loved you very much, and losing you is devastating.

You comforted me and supported me at a time where I felt like no-one did. I felt understood by you when it seemed like everyone else was oblivious. In my time of need, you were always there.

I will always feel terrible for not being there for your hospitalization as you were for me. Even though you couldn't be here in person, you were very present in spirit.

Thank you for your love and wisdom, and you are sorely missed. Until we meet again.

I love you mom and I miss you very much. I'll type my favorite funeral poem. Its called DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP. By Mary Elizabeth Frye. 
 Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow .
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn rain. 

When you awaken in the morning's hush 
 I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quite birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night .
 Do not stand at my grave and cry .
 I am not there, I did not die. 
 
 I love this poem . I think it fits mom perfectly .   I believe mom is still with us and sounding us with her love and will greet all of us with that big smile of hers when its our turn to continue our journey.   I have so many wonderful memory's of mom and its hard to pick one .  I miss you mom and I love you more than words can ever say .  Love from Teresa  

I feel very fortunate to have had such a wonderful and and unique person for my mother. She was truly a very special person. She was very warm hearted and loving towards everyone. 
I remember her taking in a very home sick and lonely young navy wife when we lived in Japan. Mrs Alexander, whose husband was deployed leaving her alone in a foreign country far from family and friends. My mother opened her heart and her home to her and included her in our family. It was just what she needed. 
But that is how Mom was, always there for others and ready to share her smile and her warmth and her wonderful sense of humor. 
She was fearless and when challenged she lived up to it.
I remember her asking me what I wanted for dinner one day when we lived in Japan. I jokingly said “How about octopus?”
Sure enough, we had steamed octopus for dinner that night!
It brings a smile to my face to this very day.
So many wonderful memories like that, how lucky we were to have her!
She always made sure that we knew that we were loved and that her love was unconditional.
I loved her dearly and she is forever in my heart.

I’ve been reading others thoughts on Mom and was reminded of her own thoughts expressed during Mom and Dad’s 50th anniversary party. She always had her own way of looking at things.  Take the common phrase “The Golden Years.“ She felt that just wasn’t an adequate description. Mom believed that ones whole life is a “Golden Pathway”.   It is built as we travel the paths down which Life leads us. What wonderful insight and wisdom she had. Now, as Mom’s earthly life closes, her Golden Pathway leads her heavenward and we all can take great comfort in knowing she is loving us from above and watching over us.

Lynn and Vic invited me into their lives at the Pro Angler Restaurant in Campbell County TN. They made me more than a part of friends that gathered there each morning.  They took me in as part of their family. Treated me as a son. Lynn as well as Vic are 2 of the most loving caring positive people I have ever met. There are so many wonderful loving memories. Family and friends get togethers at their home in Tennessee. Boat rides on the lake.  Their 50th wedding anniversary celebration. We always greeted each other with a hug. I will miss those hugs and that big beautiful smile. Lynn will be missed. Her loving caring spirit will live on in all who were fortunate enough to have known her.  

There are no words to express the sorrow I feel. Mom, (Mommalomal) was very special to me. She stood up for Teresa and I as we dated. She proved that no matter what we faced if we faced it together things have a way of working out. Now with the passing of our Mother and Friend, she is the Angel by our side, and in our hearts, still guiding and nurturing us. 
	Moms passing leaves a heartache that no one can heal, but her love leaves memories no one can steal. Remember when we were all together united by good feelings that made us better than we are. Mom had a way of bringing that out in each of us. 
I remember when we were picking up Dad at the ship after a cruise, and he took off his cover and bowed to us on the pier. Mom put her hands up as if she was blinded by the sun glaring off Dads head. The bus driver in the bus behind us busted up laughing. On our way home, Mom informed dad that Teresa and I wanted to be married, could have heard a pin drop in that car. And here we are so many years later.  Mom changed our lives forever and I will never forget. Mom has carved out a special place in our hearts for our memories, the memories of a good person is a blessing.
As long as we live, Mom will live, she is part of us; as we remember her.
