Manuel Humberto Gonzalez

Manuel H. Gonzalez, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the age of 94. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.

Manuel was born on November 20, 1931, in Brownsville, Texas and received his GED in 1952 when he joined the Air Force during the Korean conflict.

During his military time, he began his training in San Antonio, Texas, then the Mojave Desert in California and finally deployed to Alaska.

He married the love of his life, Dolores Coronado, on May 10,1958, while working at the Harlingen Air Force Base. In 1961, he was transferred to the Corpus Christi Army Depot, where he worked as a Helicopter mechanic. He retired in 1986 at the age of 55 and remained in Corpus Christi.

Our father enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, watching boxing, environmental programs & westerns, helping with the boy scouts and being a handy man around the house. He was a fan of the Cowboys, the Astros and all his children’s and grandchildren’s sports teams. He dearly loved us and was always lending a helping hand.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Ernesto Salinas Gonzalez and Manuelita Zuniga Gonzalez, brothers Ernesto Longoria Gonzales, Jr., Ernesto Crosas Gonzalez, Gerardo Gonzalez and sisters Yolanda Gonzalez Gomez and Leonor Gonzalez Sorola.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dolores Coronado Gonzalez, his sister Juane Reed of Mineral Wells, and brother, Ramon Gonzalez of Brownsville.

Survived by his children, Humberto (Hilda) Gonzalez, Nora (Camilo, C J) Moreno, Jr., Mario (Melinda) Gonzalez, all of Corpus Christi and Melida (David) Sugarek of Angleton.

Survived by his grandchildren, Ambrose (Mary Beth) Gonzalez, Celeste (John) Ghezzi, Ariel Gonzalez, Alexa (Marcus) Barter, Ares Gonzalez, Dayne Lathrop, Jacob Lathrop, Valerie (Jon) Reeves, Louis (Ana) Delgado, Crysta (Brandin) Moreno-Moreland, Cameron Moreno, Aaron Gonzalez, Ryan Gonzalez, Cassie (Josh) Gaubert, Benny (Evanne) Rodriquez

Survived by great grandchildren Bella Barter, Ava Barter, Carolina Barter, Landon Moore, Preston Moore, Cannon Green, Pierson Green, Christian Ahrens, Sebastian Gonzalez, Alessandra Gonzalez, Guliana Gonzalez, Catalina Gonzalez, Alyssa Reeves, Kaelyn Reeves, Jacob Gaubert, Maxwell Gaubert, Jovani Gaubert, Lucia Delgado, Michael Delgado, Elena Abernethy, Tristan Rodriquez, and Aidan Rodriquez.
