With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Marco Antonio Ramos, who passed away on October 27, 2026, at the age of 84, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Born on November 12, 1941, in Comales, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Marco was the son of Antonio Ramos and Florinda Arevalo Ramos. Throughout his 84 years, he built a life defined by hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, generosity toward others, and a wonderful sense of humor that brought laughter to those fortunate enough to know him.
Marco shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Aranzazu Flores Ramos, whom he married on March 20, 1965, in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, cherished memories, and the countless experiences that come with sharing more than six decades side by side.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Marco spent many years employed as a shipyard welder at Coastal Iron Works. He later worked for the Corpus Christi Independent School District in the Food Service Department, where his exceptional mechanical abilities and dependable nature made him a valued employee. Whether maintaining equipment or making food deliveries as a truck driver, Marco approached his responsibilities with pride and dedication until his retirement in December 2006.
But Marco was so much more than the work he did.
He was a man who could fix just about anything. With his remarkable mechanical skills, resourcefulness, and determination, there seemed to be no problem he couldn’t find a way to solve. His family could always count on him when something needed repairing, and he was never one to shy away from lending a helping hand.
Marco found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his beloved dogs.
Those who knew Marco will remember his unforgettable sense of humor. A natural prankster, he loved to joke, tease, and make others laugh. His playful spirit could brighten an ordinary day, and the memories of his jokes and laughter will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those who loved him.
Perhaps one of Marco’s most beautiful qualities was his generosity. He had a giving heart that extended far beyond his immediate family. Whether helping a loved one, a friend, or even a complete stranger, Marco was always willing to share what he had and offer assistance whenever he could. He believed in helping others, not for recognition or praise, but simply because that was the kind of man he was.
Above all, Marco was a family man. His greatest legacy is not measured by the years he worked or the things he accomplished, but by the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the family he leaves behind.
Marco is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Aranzazu Flores Ramos; his loving children, Mercedes (Roland) Garcia, Ana (Ken) Solis, Cristina (Afshin) Dastgiri, and Marco Antonio (Carol) Ramos Jr.; and his cherished grandchildren, Jacob Solis, Valeria Solis, Christopher Garcia, Aiden Dastgiri, and Alexander Dastgiri.
He is also survived by his siblings, Araceli R. Veloz, Juan Gilberto (Angelica) Ramos, Graciela (Victor) Del Angel, and Patricia Ramos Arevalo, along with extended family and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Marco also leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Solo (16) and Beba (8) were a special part of his life and will surely miss his loving presence.
Although our hearts ache with his passing, we find comfort in the beautiful memories he leaves behind. We will remember the smell of fajitas cooking on the grill, his laughter after pulling off one of his famous pranks, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the reassurance of knowing that Dad could always find a way to fix what was broken.
We will miss his voice, his humor, his strength, his kindness, and the familiar comfort of simply having him near.
His hands may now be at rest, but the love they gave, the things they built, and the lives they touched will remain with us forever.
Marco’s legacy lives on in his children, his grandchildren, and every person whose life was made better by knowing him.
Rest peacefully, Dad. Thank you for the love, the laughter, the lessons, and the lifetime of memories. Until we meet again, you will always be in our hearts.
