Margarita A. De La Garza

Margarita Alvarado De La Garza peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 14, 2015, at the age of 90. She was born on August 17, 1924 in San Benito, Texas and resided in Corpus Christi, Texas the majority of her life. She will be remembered for the love and devotion to her family.

Margarita is preceded in death by her husband Manuel De La Garza, son Aurelio De La Garza and newborn son Erasmo De La Garza; two grandsons, Jose Manuel De La Garza and John Robert Freudiger.

In God’s care Margarita leaves her beloved children, Juan (Mary) De La Garza, Victoria (Joe) Villarreal, Augustin (Carmen) De La Garza, Jose M. (Martha) De La Garza, San Juanita Freudiger and Jose Luis (Erika) De La Garza; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; Benito (Irma) Manzanales and Reynaldo (Linda) Reyes whom she loved dearly; brother Margartio Alvarado as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her caregivers for their compassionate and dedicated services. May God Bless you always!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
