Margarita was born in San Luis De La Paz Mexico on Januaray 26th, 1983, to Francisco Calzada and Cristina Gonzalez.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francisco Calzada; her mother, Cristina Gonzalez; her sister, Maria de los Angeles Calzada; and her brother, Juan Diego Calzada.
She is survived by her siblings: Maria Sandra (Jose Luis) Olvera, Martin (Natalie) Calzada, Nicolas (Yahaira) Calzada, Maria del Refugio (Diego Armando) Palomino, Magdalena Guadalupe (Miguel) Ramirez, and Francisco Javier (Rosy) Calzada.
Margarita devoted herself to the people she loved—especially the time she spent with her nieces and nephews—and she valued the steady companionship of her close friends at work. She will be remembered for a calm, steady presence and a sincere, principled way of moving through life—fair, faithful, and guided by an honest heart. Though she was shy, Margarita carried a quiet wit and understated charm that brought warmth to those around her. Her dry sense of humor will be missed most, as will the familiar refrain she was known to offer: “Orale.”
A gifted cook, Margarita was especially proud of her famous mole recipe, lovingly carried forward through generations and shared in the way only she could—through care, patience, and the comfort of a meal made well.
The family would like to thank the nurses in the oncology unit at Christus Spohn Shoreline, the nurses and staff at Harbor Hospice in Portland, and extend a special thank you to Dr. Pollard for the dedication and care she provided.
