Sometimes God sends angels to be wives and mothers. They are sent to families to spread their love and still lessons in life. God takes them back to heaven when their labors of devotion and goodness have been learned and experienced by those whom they have nurtured and loved. Our angel was called back by our Lord on May 15th, in the home she loved, surrounded by her beloved husband, daughter and son.
Our wife and mother loved her family with a passion unlike no other. She dedicated herself to the love of her life, her husband Bobby. She stood beside him for forty-three years. They shared beautiful and memorable experiences she cherished and carried in her heart forever. They were a constant pair, rarely anywhere without one another. They were the true definition of total commitment and solidarity in a marriage. Their union was further blessed by God with the births of their daughter Audra and son, Robert. Our angel was the most incredible, giving mother anyone could ever have. She coddled and pampered their children, but she also taught them respect and responsibility to be essential qualities in life. She taught by example, to be caring, loving and giving. Later her ultimate pride and joy came into her life, her grandson Benjamin was born. It was love at first sight. In him she found yet another life to help mold into the intelligent, successful and remarkable young man he is today. Damion was still another grandson she treasured. She played an important part in his young life as well. She was truly an example of an exceptional, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Our wife and mother loved children. She worked with students in the West Oso District for thirty-four years. She was an avid reader and history buff. She loved reading books and watching movies set in long past years. She was also a devout Catholic. She prayed her rosary and prayed to the Divine Mercy daily. She also read spiritual daily reading and would hear mass on television every day. She loved our Lord with all her heart and soul.
Our beloved wife and mother was born to Jose and Viola Rodriguez on May 29, 1951 in Harlingen, Texas. She was sister to Sergio Rodriguez, David Rodriguez and Cora Esparza. They all preceded her to heaven. She is survived by her husband, Robert Quinones, a daughter and son-in-law, Audra Amaya (Arnie) and her son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. Quinones (Brandie). She is also survived by her two grandsons, Benjamin Gomez and Damion Hilario, and a brother and sister-in-law, Luis Rodriguez (Mary). Also surviving her is her beloved buddy, her dog Dallas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thank you, Lord for sending us our precious angel. We will miss her so immensely and we will carry her memory deep within our hearts. However, we carry the hope that one day will once again be embraced by her when we’re reunited in heaven. For now, goodbye our sweet angel.
Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
