Maria Nieves Borrego

Maria Nieves Ramirez Borrego, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the River Ridge Care Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, following a 25 year battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She was raised in a ranch near Matamoros Tamaulipas Mexico, but lived most of her life with her younger daughter, Oralia in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was married at 13 with Isidro Borrego Gomez and was widowed in 1956. She worked as a provider in San Benito, Texas. She had a passion for Bingo, making crafts and helping others. She will always be in our hearts and was loved by everyone that she encountered. She is preceded in death by both her parents, Manuela and Cleofas Ramirez; all of her siblings; her husband and her beloved child. She leaves behind her children: a daughter, Maria De Los Angeles Borrego Sosa age 68, son, Jose Isaul Borrego Ramirez age 66, son, Gilberto Borrego Blanco age 64 and a daughter, Oralia Borrego Blanco age 60; also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many close friends. A Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel-549 Cheyenne with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 that same evening. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Funeraria Del Angel-549 Cheyenne with interment to follow at Memory Gardens.
