Obituary of Maria Alejandra Garcia Salinas
Maria Alejandra Garcia Salinas (“Alej”) Loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away July 28th, 2022 at the age of 46 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She went peacefully in her own home and surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Oscar C. Garcia and Maria Dolores Carrillo Garcia on June 17th, 1976 in Alice, Texas. A graduate of Alice High School, she went on to earn her Associate’s degree in child development. After working in this field, she went back to school and obtained her license in cosmetology/esthiology in 2002. She had a passion for styling hair and doing makeovers. The simplest pleasures in life brought her joy. She loved being home cooking, watching her favorite show Yellowstone, and spending time with her family. Her vivacious personality and laughter were contagious to everyone she met. She was the life of the party every time she walked in the room. Throughout her illness she never lost her sense of humor, often making jokes about her condition. Her unwavering faith gave her the strength to fight the courageous battle she endured until the Lord Christ Jesus called her home. Left to cherish her beautiful memory is the love of her life and husband of 15 years Manual E. Salinas of Corpus Christi, mother Maria Dolores Garcia of Alice, brother Oscar E. (Lupita) Garcia of Edinburg, sister Mariana (Ruben) Cantu of Corpus Christi, niece Alexandria D. Cantu of Corpus Christi, sister-in-law Martina (Curt) Villarreal of Beeville, sister-in-law Sonia Salinas of San Antonio, brother-in-law Jerry (Lisa) Salinas of Pleasanton, mother-in-law Esperanza Salinas of Mathis, her beloved cat Sniper and numerous relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Oscar C. Garcia, maternal grandparents Guadalupe and Olivia Carrillo, paternal grandparents Fortunato and Mariana Garcia, father-in-law Manual Salinas Jr. and sister-in-law Mira Flores. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Serenity and Grace Hospice of Corpus Christi, Texas for treating Alejandra and her family with great love and respect throughout this difficult time. John and Nicole Flores and their team are amazing and will forever be a part of our family.
