Lucy graduated from Del Mar College in 1977 earning an Associates degree. She married her husband of 66 glorious years on November 10, 1955. Lucy was employed by CCISD and worked at T.G. Allen Elementary as a Secretary. Lucy was a loving and caring mother, wife, and grandmother. She and her husband enjoyed RVing all over the U.S. and traveling all over the world to places like Rome, France, Italy, Portugal, and Mexico.
Lucy will always be remembered for her kind smile, strong faith in our Lord, and Holy Family, her love of shopping, warm sincere hugs, beautiful flower gardens, watching her grand-children and great-grandchildren's activities and her volunteer work with numerous community events and her church.
Lucy Martinez is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Cortez and Juanita Mayorga; step-father Cleto Ramos; son Oscar Martinez; bestfriend Lydia Montalvo.
Lucy is survived by her husband Celso V. Martinez; Daughter Norma Rodriguez, son-in-law Chris Martinez, daughter-in-law Natalie Martinez; Grandchildren: Christina, Catrina, Cassandra, Carlie, Nick and Sean; Great-grandchildren: Celeste, Camron, Ramsey, Marcus, and Martin; as well as numerous family and friends.
Visitation for Lucy Martinez will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411 Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Ss Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 3210 S Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be; Camron Vega, Marcus Vega, Ramsey Campos, Martin Campos, Dominic Martinez, Daniel Montalvo.
