Maria was very involved with Holy Family Church as a member of the Society of Guadalupanas for over 55 years and enjoyed having community meetings at her home with her friends from church.
Maria had a passion for making rosaries for everyone that came by to see her and also sent them to underprivileged children through missionaries in Mexico. She also enjoyed restoring religious statues for her friends.
Our hearts are broken to lose our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. But we are comforted in knowing that she will live in our hearts forever. The faith in which lived tells us that she is very much alive today in the presence of God our Father.
She joins in heaven her husband, George Rangel, son, Andy Rangel, daughter, Higinia Longoria, and nephew, Manuel Longoria.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories daughters, Jesusa Martinez-Nielsen (Eric), Magdalena Gonzales (Richard), Angelita Kelley, Mary Alice Ramos, Sylvia Rangel, and her sons, Placido Rangel (Nancy), and Joe A. Rangel, 24 Grandchildren, 49 Great Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great Grandchildren, two brothers, Pedro Hinojosa and Francisco Hinojosa.
Pallbearers: George Longoria, Marcus Martinez, Richard Gonzales Jr., John Gonzales, David Rangel, and Joe Flores.
