Maria "Lolie" Dolores Reyes

Dolores graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1975, and went on to attend Del Mar College where she received an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1995; a career field in which she worked until her retirement in 2013.

She was a proud member of the Guadalupanas, and she had a passion for serving her community through the local churches, her faith in God, and singing praises to the Lord. She was an avid Cowboys fan, and loved cats although she was allergic to them!

She was a huge fan of the movie "Misery" and will forever be remembered for her attempt to make Annie Wilkes famous Meatloaf where the "secret ingredient" was Spam. Dolores worked very on this and when it was ready, she proudly served it to her family with a heaping pile of mashed potatoes. First off, this was the worst meatloaf any of us had ever eaten, and second, later that night the entire family suffered from the tragic merging of meats. She was never allowed to cook anything of the sorts again, by order of our Abuela!

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Anselmo L. and Antonia G. Reyes; sisters, Ofelia Reyes, and Maria Teresa Reyes; and brother, Jose Baldemar Reyes.

She is survived by her son, Daniel Reyes; grandchildren, Zayne Michael Reyes, and Levina Ezara Reyes; brothers, Jose del Carmel Reyes (Maria Elizabeth), Jose Bernardino Reyes (Marina Dolores), Roberto Jesus Reyes (Samantha Rose), Juan Anselmo Reyes (Rosa P.), and twin brother, Rodolfo Reyes; and sister, Olga Desantos.

A public visitation for Lolie will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A holy rosary will occur Monday, August 25, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, 3901 Violet Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas. A committal and interment will occur Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 11:15 AM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
