Maria Garcia Rodriguez

Maria Benita Garcia Rodriguez, 49, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on June 13, 2025. She was born on March 28, 1976, in Corpus Christi, where she was raised and built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. She shared many meaningful years of marriage with Guadalupe Garcia, with whom she raised a loving family.

Benita was the heart of her home, a dedicated homemaker whose energy, warmth, and joy touched everyone she met. She had an unwavering love for the Dallas Cowboys, a deep connection to music, and an incredible gift for bringing people together. Whether it was dancing in the living room or planning family getaways to California, Las Vegas, Colorado, and Cozumel, Mexico, Benita created moments her family will forever cherish. She especially loved hosting backyard BBQs, where her famous chicken fajitas and enchiladas brought everyone to the table. Known for her bold hairstyles, flawless makeup, and unforgettable presence, Benita will be remembered most for her enormous heart and fierce devotion to her children, always their protector, their cheerleader, and their safe place. She was always ready to stand up for her children, no matter the circumstance.

Benita was preceded in death by her beloved son, Guadalupe Garcia Jr., and her father, Raul Rodriguez. She is survived by her loving children, Stephanie Garcia, Stacey Alvarado, Jose Garcia, and Luis Garcia; her mother, Maria Morales, and her sister, Connie Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Gina Hinojosa, Jordan Garcia, Zariah Alvarado, Zeiden Alvarado, Zeliana Loveigh, and Sariah Garcia.

A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX 78405, followed by a prayer service to take place at 6:30 PM.
