Mrs. Maria G. Sifuentes, with 89 years of wisdom, knowledge, and truth; the Grand Matriarch, was called home to rest with our Savior Almighty on June 24, 2015 as she basked in the glory of loving family intently lifting her spirit with Honor, Dignity, and Grace. She crossed the threshold of a dream ... to leave earthly mortality for divine existence with our most benevolent and all-forgiving Lord, as family and friends cherished the surreal moment of reality as we know it.
Her passage to the Kingdom of God was facilitated by the honorable and tender loving care provided by the Angel Bright nursing staff and Del Cielo home health staff. The family is eternally grateful for your compassion, care, and high-calling. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and souls! Heartfelt gratitude to all her doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who were instrumental in assisting her passage to the Kingdom of Peace.
Maria was born on November 19, 1925 in Hidalgo, Texas to loving parents, Albino Garces and Manuela Peña, who instilled a love of family and an insurmountable work ethic, which she osmotically transferred to her off spring and their future progeny. This, she made her lifelong mission with endless energy, commitment, and LOVE! Maria lived an arduous and difficult early life, always prevailing with Honor and Dignity to become a radiant pinnacle of knowledge and wisdom ... this she shared through example and deeds.
Unfortunately, Maria was preceded in death by her angelic sons: Carlos, and Jose Luis. She is survived by the love of her life, a loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Luis Sifuentes Sr. and a noble brother, Noe Garces. Her pride and joy and the greatest treasures in her world were her children, whom she diligently raised with firmness and love ... Luis (Rosemary) Sifuentes, Jr., Corpus Christi, Texas; Dr. Jorge L. (Linda Ann) Sifuentes, Lima, Ohio; Oscar (Sharon) Sifuentes, Cocoa, Florida; Gilbert (Mary Helen) Sifuentes, Corpus Christi, Texas; Javier (Celia) Sifuentes, Corpus Christi, Texas; Rolando (Dee) Sifuentes, Corpus Christi, Texas; Sylvia (Efrain, Sr.) Franco, Corpus Christi, Texas; Esmeralda (Dan) Porras, Woodsboro, Texas and Alex (Rosie) Sifuentes, Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is additionally survived by 26 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Her long-lasting legacy of personal responsibility and self-reliance is no doubt well preserved within the Family Tree. Numerous nephews, nieces, and friends extended the family to relish the moments when fellowship and camaraderie were essential elements of a God-fearing Society. The family has committed itself to continue on the path forged by our loving Beacon of strength.
Maria was an original founding member of Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Being profoundly instrumental in fulfilling the spiritual needs of the community, her devotion to the family was of biblical proportions, always forsaking her personal needs for the good of the family. She dedicated her entire life to her family to the exclusion of herself ... a mother whom all the family will forever honor. A massive void has been left with her departure to our most high to be slowly woven as her lessons come to fruition.
Our precious Matriarch will be lovingly carried to her resting place by her beautiful and heartbroken Grandsons: Gilbert Sifuentes Jr., Javier Sifuentes Jr., Joshua Leigh Sifuentes, Efrain Franco Jr., Daniel Ruben Porras, and Rolando Luis Sifuentes. Their devotion and goodwill shall propel Maria with an elegance pleasing to our Savior and all-forgiving Jesus Christ, on high.
The family is humbly honored and privileged to receive friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. that same evening to commend Maria to our most precious Jesus Christ.
