Marion Grace was born to Marion Edward Colwell and Mary William Darnell on September 18, 1938, in San Perlita, Texas. Her family moved to Oklahoma, and later back to Texas to settle in Corpus Christi. She was the youngest of 7 children. She is survived by her brother Rev. C.D. Colwell, and sister Helen Wilbanks, and preceded in death by sister Mary Bell Johns, and brothers V.M. Colwell, Hugh Colwell, and Kenneth Colwell.
Marion graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1957, and married Paul Thomas Rackley in 1959. They resided in Chapman Ranch, where she and Paul farmed and raised their family. Paul went to be with the Lord in 2017. They have two daughters, Diane Grace Dreier and Laura Kay Rackley, and two grandchildren, Daniel Alan Dreier and Erin Leigh Dreier. She loved and cared for her family selflessly. She will be greatly missed.
Marion was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, and after getting married moved to Lexington Baptist Church. There she taught Sunday School for several years, sang in the choir, and served in other ministries. She had a passion to share Jesus’ love. As she got older, that developed into a card ministry that she used to encourage and provide scripture to her friends, family, and anyone she got to know.
A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Lexington Baptist Church at 11:00 am. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the American Bible Society, one of Marion’s favorite charities.
