Mark built a career in real estate investing with his family. He was also an usher for the San Diego Chargers, and volunteered often for the Republican Party.
Mark had a deep love and trust in Jesus Christ, and ushered every Sunday at church. He was a member of the Lutheran Layman League and would represent them by traveling from church to church and volunteering in different mission capacities.
Mark loved to travel and have adventures. He traveled all over the world and was especially happy about his trip to the Great Wall of China. He also loved playing mini-golf, going to baseball games, and completing puzzles with his nieces and nephews, who loved him deeply. He will be dearly missed.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Armin Elbert; and brothers, Steven and Charles.
A private graveside service will be held in San Diego, CA; A Celebration of Mark's life will be held in Corpus Christi, TX at a later date.
