Martin graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic Academy in 1969, then enlisted in the United States Army serving from 1969 – 1972. He served two tours in Vietnam, and awarded the National Defense Service Medal with two overseas bars. Martin married his beloved wife of 48 years on August 17, 1973. He enjoyed backyard BBQ with his family, playing golf, playing tennis, coaching youth sports and completing home improvement projects.
Martin was a devoted Catholic who strongly believed in raising his family with Catholic morals and values. His whimsical and social personality attracted the life of his family, friends, and co-workers. Martin was a dedicated supervisor for Charter Hospital for 32 years and beloved by his staff. Martin loved life and was adored by all of his family. He was well respected in his community and loved by all who knew him.
Martin is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Bernadina Garcia and his sister Jovita Garcia.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Thelma Garcia; children: Martin (Tracy) Garcia, III, Adam, and Abraham (Natalia) Garcia.
Treasured Grandchildren: Brandon, Lexi, Teagan, and Dalainie.
Siblings: Pablo, Laura, Jeannina; niece, Kristina whom he loved like his own daughter.
Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 3210 South Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
