MARY VIRGINIA CLUNAN GRAHAM, 90 years of age, and a longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. She was born in Mississippi on January 21, 1928 and moved to the Corpus Christi area as a small child and continued her education through High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was in Corpus Christi that Mary would meet her future husband.
On December 1, 1947, Mary married the love of her life, Paul W. Graham. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage until Paul’s passing on January 6, 2001. Mary and Paul had no adopted or biological children born to them; however, they were parent figures and pillars of strength to many nieces and nephews. Mary had a passion for gardening and shared her gardening enthusiasm with everyone. Music too was another of Mary’s passion. She loved big band music and the music from days gone by. Family was her greatest passion and making those around her know they were loved and cared about. She never met a stranger as Mary was a very social person. Mary often referred to herself as “very outspoken.”
Mary is survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors.
Mary will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her; however, comfort is found in knowing that Mary is reunited with those friends and family members that have gone before her and that she is once again reunited with her beloved husband, Paul. No longer will Mary be hindered with COPD or macular degeneration. Mary reminded us all that when her time came she had personally selected her dress to “dance with Jesus”.
Graveside services only will be held at Memory Gardens, Corpus Christi, Texas on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, it was Mary’s request that a donation be made to a charity of ones choosing.
