Mary McGannon Gomez

Mary McGannon Gomez, age 73, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2015 with her children and husband by her side. She was born March 26, 1942 in Enniscorthy County, Wexford, Ireland. She met her husband in Germany while he was serving in the Air Force and they moved to Torrance, California then made their home in Corpus Christi in 1966.

Mary was an active parishioner at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Mary spent the majority of her career taking care of the terminally ill as a registered nurse. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchild and family.

Mary was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Gomez.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Pedro M. Gomez Jr; sons, Paul (Debi) Gomez, Richard Gomez, Peter M. Gomez; daughter, Kellie (Pete) Mahoney; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; 8 sisters; 3 brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
