

She is preceded in death by her husband H.F. Garcia; four brothers, four sisters, two beloved sisters passed away recently, Sofia and Estella Gonzalez.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children, Diana Escobar, Sylvia Diaz (Benito) and John Garcia (Ida Mendez); her grandchildren, David Escobar, Carrie Mata (Adrian), Linda Cardenas (Bryan), Michael Garcia, Tracie Rogalinski (Dr. Joseph Rogalinski), Jennifer Escobar and Brandon Garcia. Her survivors include her great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Cardenas, Emilee Cardenas, Erik Rogalinski, Jack Rogalinski, William Rogalinski, Brett Rogalinski and Bella Nicole Garcia and one brother, Raul Rodriguez of Houston, Texas.
Matilde was widowed at age 38, with three teenage children to raise. She was hard working and very family oriented. She took care of her grandkids while her daughters went to work. She loved to read, shop and eat at restaurants! She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister to her siblings. She will be greatly missed. Matilde was dearly loved by her children and grandchildren.
Honoring her as pallbearers are David Escobar, Joseph Rogalinski, Bryan Cardenas, Brandon Garcia, Henry Sosa and Marcus Sosa.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening on Thursday, December 8, 2001, at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2001, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
