Mauricia G. Tapia
September 4, 1952 – January 25, 2018
Mauricia Tapia, age 65 of Corpus Christi went to join her beloved son in heaven on Wednesday, January 25, 2018. Marcy was born on September 04, 1952 and graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1971. She was employed for many years as a nurse’s aide and was a devoted mother and caregiver to her youngest son, Marcus. Marcy was well known for her love of Bingo and the many delicious deserts she would bake for her friends and family. Marcy is preceded in death by her son, Marcus Longoria; her parents Monico and Fermina Antonia Garcia; her older brother, Atilano Garcia, and her partner, Daniel Salinas. She is survived by her ex-husband, Miguel Tapia; her son, John Michael (Julie Ann) Longoria; her two grandchildren, Christina Elena, and John Anthony; her four great-grandchildren, Daniel Eulalio, Kayden Alexander, Alliana Nicole, and Claire Seren; her siblings, Enriqueta (Emede) Carasco, Dominga (Nick) Ramirez, Janie (Robert) Pena, Gloria (Robert) Paz, Abraham Garcia, and Benigno Garcia (Janie). Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
