

Meizie Lorraine Bobbins-Salinas, passed away on January 4, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on February 20, 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Meizie lived a life filled with purpose, love, and unwavering dedication to her family, faith, and community.
Meizie was a cherished daughter, mother, wife, sister, and friend, whose love and generosity were the cornerstones of her life. She embodied kindness and compassion, always placing others’ needs before her own. She is survived by her devoted husband, Eduardo Salinas, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Her legacy of care and nurturing continues through her beloved daughter, Mechelle McKinnie (Anthony), and her grandchildren, Jeremy, Casaundra (Hassan), Carlos, Tifanee, and Christopher, who were the light of her life. Her family also includes her brother, Otho "OB" Bobbins; her sister, Yvonne Smeltzer (Jefferey); her niece, Kelly Thomas (Larry); her nephews, Kevin Bobbins (Angel) and Keith Bobbins (Latoya); her brother-in-law, Johnathan Howell; and her sisters-in-law, Oralia Salinas Anzaldua (Alex), Lupita Salinas Lopez, Rachel Salinas McKenzie (David), and Sandra Salinas Alvarado (Mike). Additionally, she leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, great-nieces, nephews, and extended family who were touched by her presence and love.
Meizie was preceded in death by her parents, Otho L. and Elouise Bobbins, her sister, Rose Marie Howell, and her niece, Cynthia Howell whom she dearly loved and missed every day.
Meizie dedicated her life to serving others and spreading hope across the globe. As a missionary, she made an indelible impact in Malawi, Africa, where she helped build a library that continues to serve as a sanctuary for knowledge and inspiration to the community. Her work in Malawi was more than a mission; it was a testament to her deep belief in the power of education to transform lives. She poured her heart into this project, leaving a legacy that will uplift generations to come.
In addition to her missionary work, Meizie was an active and proud member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Her commitment to advocacy and support for veterans demonstrated her unwavering dedication to helping those who had sacrificed so much for others. Through her efforts, she exemplified the true meaning of service.
Meizie’s creativity and artistic talents were evident in her passion for quilting. She found joy in designing and crafting beautiful, unique keepsakes that reflected her artistic spirit and love for others. Her quilts, each a masterpiece of care and attention, were given as gifts to family, friends, and those in need, serving as tangible expressions of her love and generosity. These treasures will continue to be cherished reminders of her warmth and creativity.
Meizie’s life was guided by her unshakable faith and deep commitment to kindness. She believed in the power of giving, whether through her missionary work, her advocacy with the DAV, or her simple acts of daily kindness. Her unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community earned her a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was a woman of strength and boundless love, whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. Her wisdom, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her family and friends take solace in knowing that she lived a life of purpose and faith, always striving to make the world a better place.
A celebration of Meizie’s extraordinary life will be held on February 8th, at 11:00 a.m at Parkway Presbyterian Church, 3707 Santa Fe St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411. This gathering will honor her legacy and the countless lives she touched.
Meizie Lorraine Bobbins-Salinas will be remembered as a beacon of light, a source of strength, and an endless well of love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she inspired, the lives she touched, and the communities she transformed.
