Michael John Maraist, age 26, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Michael was born in Corpus Christi to Kevin and Robin Maraist and was the second of three children. He graduated from Richard Milburn Academy and attended Del Mar College. Michael received his sacraments at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a sales agent with World Car Kia, San Antonio, where he distinguished himself as an effective and talented salesman.
Michael enjoyed cooking, spending time with his coworkers and friends, and closing car deals. He greatly admired and appreciated his friends at World Car Kia. He enjoyed fishing, skateboarding, surfing, playing guitar, drawing, playing poker and being on the water. Perhaps his most endearing attribute was his ability to make people laugh with his goofy sense of humor and infectious smile. He will always be remembered for his caring nature and big heart, which overflowed with love for his friends, family, and his dog Baxter. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Cawthorne. Michael is survived by his father, Kevin Maraist (Gaby); mother, Robin C. Maraist; brother, Christopher Maraist (Mari) of Fort Mill, SC; sister, Kathryn Maraist of Austin; and stepsister, Andrea Cabrera of Austin.
