Miguel “Michael” Dionicio Zaragosa, age 50, of Chapman Ranch, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Dionicio S. Zaragosa and Aurora D. Zaragosa.
Michael was a beloved son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend whose vibrant personality, infectious enthusiasm, and love for family made him unforgettable to all who knew him.
Michael graduated from Del Mar College, where he earned a certificate in Business. He went on to pursue a career in business management and sales, retiring in 2018. During his time with Verizon in Dallas, he formed many lasting friendships and created memories that he would carry with him throughout his life. Those who knew Michael understood his sense of humor and his appreciation for a good time. As the saying goes, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!”
Michael was a proud member of Church Unlimited, where he participated in The Journey to Damascus Men’s Retreat, an important part of his faith journey.
A passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, Michael made game days an event to remember. His excitement was contagious, and everyone knew just how pumped up he could get cheering for his beloved Cowboys. He especially enjoyed barbecuing for his family on game days, bringing everyone together to share good food, laughter, and football. These gatherings became treasured memories that his loved ones will hold close to their hearts.
Michael had a love for food, music, and making people laugh. Some of the family’s favorite memories include road trips to Rivera for tamales, ordering an entire olla of menudo just for himself, and his repeated attempts to perfect his Spanish rice. Whether he was singing his favorite songs, letting out his unmistakable el grito, or simply being himself, Michael had a special way of bringing life and laughter to every gathering. He also kept busy as a driver for Uber and Lyft and as a delivery driver for DoorDash.
Above all, Michael loved the moments spent with family and friends. His larger-than-life personality, humor, and unmistakable spirit made even the simplest occasions special. His family will remember him through the traditions he cherished, the meals he shared, the songs he sang, and the excitement he brought to every Cowboys game. These memories will continue to bring smiles and laughter even through the sadness of his passing.
Michael is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Aurora D. Zaragosa; his maternal grandparents, Genaro and Maria Luz DeLeon; his paternal grandparents, Luis M. Zaragosa and Paula Silvas Zaragosa; several aunts and uncles; and his great-nephews, Hector Teodoro and Ramon Genaro Perez.
Michael leaves behind his loving father, Dionicio S. Zaragosa; his brother, Cristoval (April) Zaragosa; his nieces, Valerie A. Zaragosa and Paula (Ruben) Lerma; and his nephews, Luis (Karen) Zaragosa, Nicholas Zaragosa, Matthew Zaragosa, and Thomas (Adriana) Zaragosa; great-nephews, Sabas Perez IV, Noah Gabriel Perez, Julian Thomas Zaragosa, and Emilio Cristoval Lerma; and his great-nieces, Aaliyah and Mia.
Michael also leaves behind Mikel and Dallas Betancourt and their children, Khaleesi and Mikel, Jr., along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to Fresenius Dialysis, Da Vita Dialysis, Amy Salinas Provide Services, Angeline Home Health, and Dr. Chakilam Campbell, Fernandez Hamish, Reddy Rodriguez, and Steele for their care, compassion, and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Michael’s memory.
Michael’s life was filled with faith, family, laughter, music, good food, and Dallas Cowboys football. Though his absence leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who loved him, his spirit will live on in the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the countless memories that bring his family and friends together.
He will be remembered for his unmistakable el grito, his love of singing, his enthusiasm on game days, and the joy he brought simply by being Michael.
Rest peacefully, Michael. You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will never be forgotten. May your memory live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.
