After graduating from Foy H. Moody in 1971, he attained a certification in Welding & Testing from Del Mar College. He began his career in the steel fabrication field with Baker Marine and Saxet Fabrications. He spent the last 25 years with C & S Plating, Inc. as a shop foreman and mentor to his "Boys" who he'd taken under his wing. Moses was also a member of the American Welding Society and received several certifications. When it came to his work, he was very meticulous, had an eye for detail and was very dedicated. He preferred to continue the traditional craft of hand drawn blueprints of his fabricated designs and stored them in binders for reference.
From an early age, he always had a deep connection to the outdoors and nature as an avid hunter and fisherman. He pursued a variety of interests, including the creation of custom, handmade welded art and wood pieces, sharing his vast knowledge of plants. In addition, he enjoyed customizing and modifying his Jeep Willy and collecting Jeep memorabilia. He was passionate about music and was talented at playing his acoustic guitar, which was passed down to his grandson, Nathan. His favorite song was "Fireball" by Pitbull and would request that it be played at every family gathering and celebration. His life was his children and grandchildren. Especially taking pictures to capture every cherished moment with them. He will be dearly missed.
He had a love and interest in his family's connections to the South Texas history of Don Carlos De La Garza and the De La Garza family cemetery where his ashes will be laid to rest following the rosary and mass on November 9th, 2024, at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5830 Williams Drive.
