Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on June 23, 1949, Nettie spent most of her life here, though she also called Orange County home for 24 years. During her time there, she touched many lives and made lifelong friends. Nettie was a dedicated and hardworking individual. She wore many hats throughout her life—working in education, caring for others, and giving her time to various community endeavors.
For 20 years, Nettie worked for the Brea School District, where she was known for her dedication to the children and staff she served. She began her career in education as a crossing guard and later moved into the Corpus Christi Independent School District, where she spent two decades working in various schools. In both districts, her unwavering commitment to her work earned her the honor of being selected as Employee of the Year.
In addition to her work in education, Nettie a diverse and fulfilling career. She worked for J.C. Penney, helped care for several elderly women, sold cars and trucks on weekends, and found time to coach youth baseball. She was also a passionate athlete, competing in the Senior Olympics National Tournament on several teams.
Nettie was a devout member of Christ the King Church and the Guadalupana Society, where she gave generously of her time and energy. She was also a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary 3837. Her faith, compassion, and dedication to helping others were cornerstones of her life.
She will be dearly missed, but after years of health challenges, our Lord saw that it was time to lift her up to rest.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Flores and Lydia Candela Moreno; her brother Arturo Turincio; and her sister, Elizabeth Mueller.
Left to cherish her memories are her soulmate, Richard Munguia; five sons, Manuel (Nelda) Marroquin, Daniel Marroquin, Raymond (Karina) Marroquin, David (Ana) Marroquin, and Richard Nathan Munguia; brothers, Fred (Alice) Flores, Rudy (Terry) Flores, Arnold Flores, Ronnie (Ruby) Turincio, Joe Andrew, Johnny Turincio; sisters, Yolanda (Ruben) Cornejo, Blanca (George) Garza, and Velma Chavez; Brother-in-law, Paul Mueller and numerous grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
Public visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Funeraria DeL Angel, 4901 Everhart Road from 4pm until 10pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm . As per family request the rosary recital will be streamed live on Facebook.
Funeral service will be at Christ the King Catholic Church at 9:30 am Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
