Nelda Norma Munoz

She was born on February 17, 1952, in Texas to her parents, Jose Valderas and Ella Dora Vela. Nelly grew up in Hebbronville, Texas, where she graduated from Hebbronville High. She later continued her education at Laredo Community College, earning her certification as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

Nelly was united in marriage to David Muñoz in Corpus Christi, Texas. She went on to work in the nursing field at Christus Spohn Shoreline, where she cared for others with compassion and dedication. In addition to her professional career, Nelly was a devoted homemaker and caregiver to her family, a role she cherished deeply.

She was strong in her faith and had a deep passion for music, especially playing the piano. Nelly was a talented pianist, as well as a wonderful cook, nurse, and business owner, who loved to travel. In her younger years, she was a cheerleader in high school and cherished her time spent on the ranch. She will be remembered for her strength, love for her family, and the many roles she fulfilled throughout her life.

She was reunited in heaven with her son, Roland Muñoz and husband, David Munoz.

Nelly is survived by her children: Jeffrey and Ann Muñoz; David Muñoz Jr.; Victoria and Ramsey Reyes; and Pamela Muñoz.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Amadeus, Vincent, Vladimir, Oriah, Geoffrey, Penelope, and Alyssa.

She is survived by her brother, Ramiro & Patricia, and was reunited in heaven with her siblings: Freddy, Delia, Thelma, Alma, and Josesito.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Rite of Committal and Entombment will be held at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, on May 1, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
