Nettie T. Garcia

Nettie T. Garcia, born Xochil Neri Alfaro Tamez, was born July 25, 1931 in Premont, Texas. She passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. After raising her 4 children, she dedicated her life to missionary work in various parts of Northern Mexico. She established 3 churches that are still cultivating the seeds that she planted.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paula Alfaro and Lino Tamez; brothers, Eleazar and Salvador; sisters, Carmen, Lydia and Alicia; and her beloved grandson, Emmanuel Capetillo.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Alejandra) Garcia; daughters, Edna (Frank) Alegria, Rachel (Gustavo) Medrano, Rebecca (Gilberto) Hernandez; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.at Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
