Nicolas married the love of his life, Elizabeth Saenz, on April 17, 1987, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and family.
Nicolas worked for many years as a painter with the Corpus Christi Independent School District, where he earned the respect of his peers and was known for his skill, dedication, and professionalism. He was a proud Christian and lived his life guided by faith and integrity.
He had a deep passion for art and painting, martial arts, cars, and above all, his family. One of his son’s most cherished memories was working alongside his father when Nicholas freelanced as an independent contractor painter. Most of his jobs were completed solo, but on those occasions, his son proudly served as his assistant. Those quiet days on the job became powerful lessons. Nicholas taught best through silence, by example, patience, and action; leaving a lasting impression that words could never replace.
Nicolas was well known for attaining the distinction of Master Painter with the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Saenz Perez; his son, Nicolas James Perez, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Luna Perez and Cyrus Perez, who brought him immense pride and joy.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate care teams at Spohn Shoreline and Harbor Hospice in Portland for their kindness, dedication, and support during this time.
Nicolas will be remembered for his quiet strength, strong faith, unwavering work ethic, and the love he poured into his family and craft.
