Nicolasa “Nico” Jasso passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 02, 1949, to Alfredo Casiano and Jesusa Pena Casiano. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nicolasa was a loving wife, sister, and aunt. Born in Corpus Christi, she never left Texas and stayed in cities along the Gulf Coast; including Galveston and Baytown, where she resided until her passing. She held different occupations and professions throughout her lifetime including cosmetology and nursing. Though she did not have children of her own, Nicolasa helped care for many of her nieces and nephews, as well as being the primary caregiver to her own mother until her death in 1991. She was a kind and caring person who never met a stranger. Her heart was full of love for everyone she knew.
Nicolasa enjoyed music and dancing, playing loteria (bingo), crocheting, and collecting “treasures.” She could often be found browsing the day away at local resale shops. Her collections included stuffed animals, pigs, and porcelain dolls. When she was not out “treasure hunting,” she loved spending time with her family and watching her favorite tv shows. Nicolasa was a devout Christian and attended church as often as she could.
Left to cherish memory are her husband, Juan Jasso; sister, Eulalia Moya; brothers, Esequiel Casiano, and Juan Casiano; and numerous nephews and nieces
She will be reunited with Pedro Clark; her beloved parents, Alfredo Casiano and Jesusa Pena Casiano; and brothers, George Casiano, Alfredo Casiano, Placido Casiano, Jose Casiano, and Estevan Casiano.
Family will receive friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, August 08, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
