Lisa Martinez sent a picture of our sister Noemi when Noemi was 16 years old. Lisa was 14 at the time. My sister Noemi and our friend Lisa had met at Coles Junior High School. Also, Lisa posted very kind words about our Sister.

Naomi or Mimi` was my childhood friend. I was 14 she was 16. We attended the Tabernacle Church. Some Saturdays we were handing out church flyers at Cole park. I’d spend the weekend with her at her Grandma’s house.  Her Mom would invite me downtown on Saturday and she always bought me a dress.  Years later Mimi` told me that she was using the money David gave her. Sometimes I’d go to early Saturday breakfast with both parent and Mimi.  El Senor Martinez” worked at the airport picking up Sailors and driving them to Beeville. Sometimes Mimi and I would accompany him. 
We would sit in the back seat talking and giggling like school girls do.  When he stopped to pick up someone we’d  hurriedly jumped to the front seat.  Again giggling and whispering because it was always a naval man.   Once Mimi told her parents that I was running for high school “spirit queen” and her Dad took both of us to get our hair done. La Senora Martinez bought me a purple dress which I wore to the pep- rally to hear the winner’s name. I did not win, but my hair-do was done up very nice with lots of hair spray and tons of bobby pins.
I wanted to do Missionary work and travel to Hatti.  We were always praying together. We would both go to church, school and repeat. We were just two kids that wanted to do 
When I was in Korea we would talk more often, mostly late at night when she was home from work and into the wee hours of the morning.  We would talk, laugh and sometimes crying was involved.    
When my Mami` got sick, Mimi` showed up and she stayed with me for hours.  
We reminisced about our childhood speaking in quiet tones and then we would giggle as not to wake my Mami`. 
We were like two teenagers, except we had gotten much older and our hair was gray. Well, at least Mimi’s hair was.
Mimi, keep smiling. You would always say to me 
“God is good”.  Yes, Mimi` all the time.

Our deepest condolences to the Ramirez family at the loss of your wife, your Mom, your Grandma, your Tia, your mother in law.  Our deepest condolences to her four brothers, mis amados primos. Noemi will always live through all of you.  She was a special lady. I have fond memories of her when we were all growing up in Corpus Christi.  May God comfort you all as only He can.  From your prima, Blandina Sandoval and her husband, Samuel Sandoval. Your are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Finally got to see you after a long time and it won’t be the same without you I loved you so much and everything you did for us you did so much for a lot of people and you will never be forgotten I love you grandma!!

You watched them grow, you taught them, you loved them and made their lives better everyday. You will be loved always.
