Norman Charles Payton

Norman Charles Payton passed away April 2, 2018. He was 92. Norman was born May 4, 1925 in Norton, Kansas to Chester A. Payton and Mable Hartsock Payton. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1943 until 1945 and was a World War II Veteran. Norman worked in Industrial Construction until he retired. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Portland, Texas, a Mason and a life member of the VFW.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Jean E. Payton; 2 daughters, Barbara (Frank) Caylor and Norma (Ed) Mai; stepson, Lloyd B. (Guilda) Teel; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2018 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
