

Ofelia “la borada” as she was known to many, lived most of her life in Corpus Christi, TX. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. Fela, as many others have known her, loved to cook and watch the Dallas Cowboys. Her most recent past time was giving everyone a hard time. She was always excited when Elvis was in the house. She loved music, dancing and teaching her children and grandchildren about the Hispanic Culture. She was a resident for a year in a half at Tri-sun Health Care Center where she enjoyed bingo, arts and crafts.
Ofelia is preceded in death by her parents, Hipolito and Juana Olivo; husband, Jose V. Jaimes; sisters, Carmen Carrillo, Guadalupe Resuirez; brothers, Jose, Juan, Hipolito, Jr. and Alfredo Olivo; her grandson, Roland Gonzalez, Jr . and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Gutierrez.
She is survived by a sister, Sara (Joe) Barrera; her son, Oscar (Mercy) Gutierrez; daughters, Cynthia Gutierrez (Sam Garcia), Belinda (Martin) Saenz, Brenda Jaimes (Mike) and son, Robert “Bob” Jaimes; grandchildren, Oscar III, Jacob (Sarah) Gutierrez , Christina and Victoria Gutierrez, Miranda Adame, Martin Jr., Joshua and Emma Saenz, Stephany Jaimes and Jonathon Ramirez (Jaimes). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Carissa, Jade, Oscar IV, Jacob, Matthew, Daniel and Isaiah Gutierrez along with other family members and friends; Chico her beloved pet dog.
The family will be receiving friends at Funeraria Del Angel on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank Tri-sun Health Care Center, the nurses and staff for the love and care that was given to Ofelia for giving her the laughter and fun she enjoyed.
