Olivia Acosta Gonzales, age 72, of Taft, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Olivia was born July 14, 1948 in Sinton, Texas, to Fernando and Bernardina (Medina) Acosta. She was raised in Taft, Texas.
The town of Taft lost the best news reporter even though she was at home all day, Olivia found out the news before it was shared. . . but, that what we all loved about her. Her cooking brought us all together and her measuring cup was filled with love. Olivia's smile warmed the room and her blessings made you feel invincible. O, how she loved her game shows, bingo, lottery tickets, novellas, and she could not live without The Young and The Restless. She was married to David Gonzales for 55 years which is why it is understandable that she needed to hurry and reunite with him in heaven. She died of a broken heart.
Olivia was a beloved grandmother who bought barney meals, loved to color with the kiddos, and played old maid, and would even allow the grandkids to win. She was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her husband, David to spend eternity in the mansion he most certainly has already built for her already. Until we meet again, Mom and Dad, we love you both so much. . . we could not have asked for better parents.
Olivia is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Bernardina Acosta; husband, David Saenz Gonzales; children, David and Ernesto Gonzales.
She is survived by her children: Frank (Ida) Garcia, Cynthia (Jose) Cruz, Veronica Gonzales, Monica (Daniel) Lopez, David "Guero" (Veronica Hernandez) Gonzales, Jr.
