She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 23, 1946, and is preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad Villarreal Rodriguez and Estefana Sanchez Rodriguez.
If you were to ask Libby what her biggest accomplishment was in this world, she would say her children. She was a single mother of 4 and is survived by her daughter, Debra D. (Arnold) Morin; her son, Peter Ray De Los Santos; her daughter, Melissa T. (David) Perez; her daughter, Olivia “Ollie” Gutierrez; 7 grandchildren, Arnold Jordan (Rachel) Morin, David R. (Allison Darzi) Perez Jr., Victoria M. (Devon) Herre, Kristin N. Perez, Noah R. Perez, Isabella Gilda Perez, Devyn Perez, and Trey R. Perez.
Libby is also survived by her sister, Rose Mary Rodriguez and brothers, Gilbert S. (Mary) Rodriquez, George S. (Sheila) Rodriguez, Gabriel S. (Norma) Rodriguez, and Trinidad Rodriguez. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Libby attended Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas and went on to have a long and successful career in the mortgage banking industry. She was loving, caring, thoughtful, and generous. She never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. In her younger years, she was always the “Life of the Party.” She loved to dance and took pleasure in teaching people how to dance to ‘Tejano’ and ‘Country & Western’ music. In her later years, she enjoyed watching investigative crime series, particularly CSI, Blue Bloods, and Hawaii Five-0.
She will be missed tremendously. She is now a beautiful Guardian Angel watching over us. Until we can dance together again – “We Love You!”
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her honor to Salvation Army of Corpus Christi.
