Oralia Flores Cavazos, 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on February 1, 2024 surrounded by her adoring family. She was born June 8, 1940 to Desidoro and Lucrecia Flores in Benavides, Texas.
Oralia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was the heart of her family and the life of every party. She created a home where all were welcomed with open arms. Many would describe her as selfless and generous, which is how she raised and inspired her family to be. Oralia was notorious for ensuring that every birthday was celebrated with a cake not just for family but those who gravitated to the home she made. When walking into Oralia’s home you would hear her listening to country music, drinking a Bud Light, scratching her lottery tickets, and making those around her laugh with her humor and unfailing honesty that always came from her heart.
Oralia will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will continue her legacy and traditions, which often centered around a Cowboy’s game but never needed an excuse to gather and enjoy the family that continues to grow because of her love.
She is reunited with her parents, Desidoro and Lucrecia Flores; siblings, Olivia Mendez, Osbaldo Flores Sr., Oscar Flores Sr., Olga Flores, Odelia Flores; and great-grandsons, Alex Jr and Joseph.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jesus David Cavazos Sr.; three sisters, Alicia Marcha, Diana Grandmaison, and Dalia (Oscar) Mireles. Her five children, Jesus David Cavazos Jr, Debra Cavazos, Eddie Cavazos, Diana Cavazos and Deszi (Anadina) Cavazos; twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Vanessa (Tony), Gonzalo (Victoria), Priscilla, Kayla, Krystal (Madison), Korey, Gabriella (Imondre), Deszire, Adriana, and Deszi Jr; twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A public visitation for Oralia will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A holy rosary will occur Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A funeral mass will occur Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Ss Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 3210 S Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. An interment will occur Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
