Patrick Joseph McDonough Jr., born and raised in Nueces County passed away June 17, 2019 at his residence. Upon graduation from high school Pat entered the U.S. Army and served two years before being honorably discharged to work on the family farm and continued until retirement at 62.
Pat loved the fact that he was Irish and took every opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. He was affectionally known as the "Grand Leprechaun" according to his youngest daughter, Shannon.
He loved to dance and attended dances at Community Hall and Lindale Senior Center. He even traveled to Ennis, Texas, to attend The Polka Festival with his companion, Margaret.
Another one of his loves was flying flags (U.S., TX, and Irish) in his front yard.
He was a member of The American Legion, Eagle Lodge, South Texas Trail Riders, Farm Bureau and Honor Guard.
The family wishes to thank his brothers, Dan and Mike (Sister, Marian in heaven) for always giving him a hard time but were the first in line with a laugh or two.
We also wish to thank J.D. and Maggie Duncan, Jimmy Dolan, LaVern Roper (Dance buddies), Gallagher Boys (Jr. Leprechaun of the family), Margaret Sumbeva (in heaven) for making fun times even better. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Our dad never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back.
You will be missed - Rest in Peace Pops, Dad, PaPa. We will water the trees.
