A proud graduate of W.B. Ray High School's Class of 1956, Paula went on to attend Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. She was a proud member and past president (1969-1970) of the Kappa Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. On June 29, 1983, she married her beloved husband of 43 years, Haynie Key Glasgow.
Paula built a varied and creative career as a copywriter and editor creating newsletters for Memorial Medical Center among others. She acquired an interest in photography while working with Blackwell Photography Studio. Later she began a career in the oil and gas industry working as a division order analyst, site assessment coordinator and landman at Everest Oil and Gas Corporation.
Paula lived life with a vibrant spirit, quick wit and a wide array of passions. She loved cooking, gardening, camping in her pop-up camper, watching football and spending peaceful days at the beach. Paula always had a beautiful patio full of plants, and most of her friends and loved ones still have cuttings that she shared. An avid reader, she loved diving into true crime novels or for lighter entertainment, her weekly issue of People magazine. She had seen every episode of Law & Order, at least twice and loved watching classic old movies, though nothing matched her enthusiastic love for the music of Neil Diamond and took every opportunity to see him perform live. Her family was her ultimate joy. She cherished making memories during annual mother-daughter birthday trips to the San Antonio Riverwalk, weekend getaways with her husband and dogs to Comfort, Texas, and other trips traveling to Mexico, California, Florida Keys and her bucket list trip to see the New York City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. Lovingly known as "Grandma Haynie" she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. Having all of them with her on New Year's Eve and ringing in the new year was tradition. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Johnny C. Baldwin, and her grandson, Ryan Luckenbach.
She is survived by a large and loving family, including her husband, children: Grant Hilliard (Sheri), Leslye Evans (David), Desda Barrera (Roland), Justin Glasgow, and Barbara Crow. Her grandchildren, Lance Luckenbach (Jo), Ashley Valadez (Lupe), Stephanie Gibson, Brittany Gurule (Eric), McKenna Traywick (Matthew), Madison Tansey, Nathan Hilliard (Sadie), Madeline Crow, and Hannah Palm (Cody) along with 10 cherished great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Annie, Jessica and Flora, of Concho Hearts Hospices for their special care.
