Pete G. Gonzales III

Pete G. Gonzales III left us peacefully, Saturday, April 6, 2013 surrounded by his beloved children, grandchildren and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete & Gloria Gonzales, brothers, Jose Roel, Saul & Aaron.

Pete was a graduate of Foy H Moody HS where he pitched for Moody’s first baseball team. He continued his love of baseball playing semi-pro baseball for “La Junta” baseball team. He also loved playing softball and enjoyed golfing.

Pete retired as a Battalion Chief from NAS fire department and had worked part time as Security at the South Texas Art Museum.

Pete is survived by his wife of 40 years, Clara; his children, Yvonne Gildart (Lance), Nicole and James; his grandchildren, Victor, Brandon, Audrey and Hailey. He is also survived by his sister, Annette Gonzales, brothers, Gilbert Gonzales and William Gonzales (Patti).

Pete will be remembered for his keen sense of humor which he dearly expressed to his family members and friends.

Pete was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where he attended Catholic school.

Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Services conclude after Mass. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
