Phillip was born on January 2nd, 1976 in Corpus Christi, TX to Ira Loveday and Nina Raggett. He graduated from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi. He went to Seminary at Arlington Baptist College. He later attended a technical school in Florida for marine & small engine mechanics, and then proceeded to earn a degree in finance. Phillip married Melea Wells on July 17, 1999. God blessed them with three beautiful daughters and two sons. They were also temporary parents for several other children as licensed foster parents for several years. Phillip loved watching superhero movies with his kids, especially Superman. He was excellent at archery. He enjoyed teaching his children about fishing with his father Ira. His real love in life was horses. He spent time in his younger years working on and managing horse ranches and training horses and later with Melea as a hobby. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior when he was in fourth grade at church camp and then was baptized. He was called to the ministry when he was just a teenager. He spent some years in full time evangelism traveling and preaching. He spent his later years working in the natural gas industry as well as in the ministry and pastoring.
His children remember him as a hardworking, loving, dedicated, active father, who encouraged them to pursue their goals and follow Christ.
Phillip was an eloquent preacher and often used stories from his own life in his sermons to make them more relatable to his congregation. People often said they could really understand when they listened to him preach. Phillip preached at numerous churches over his lifetime and most recently was the pastor at Faith Christian Center in Freer, TX. He loved to serve others, whether at home with his family, at church, or in the community. He always loved to help people. He was a sincere, generous, witty, dedicated man of integrity who loved the Lord and who was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus to as many people as he could.
