Rene B. McKenzie

Rene B. McKenzie, 73, was born February 25, 1938 in Alice, Texas to Apolonia Bazan McKenzie and Arturo McKenzie Sr., passed away on December 12, 2011 after a long lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gilbert and Arturo Jr. Rene was a Mason by trade and worked at North American Rockwell in Allegan, Michigan for 5 yrs then returned to Texas in 1970. After working for Reynolds Metals Aluminum Plant in Ingleside Texas he retired after 30 years of service. Rene wanted to serve his country by the Texas National Guard where he retired after 23 yrs of service. He is survived by wife, Rose McKenzie, three daughters, Annette M. Lopez and Debbie M. Trevino (Carlos) of Alice and Melissa McKenzie of Corpus Christi; stepdaughter, Jodi Garza and stepson Henry Garcia both of Round Rock, Texas. Twelve Grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Oscar (Mary) McKenzie, Allegan, Mi, Gonzalo (Maria) McKenzie Corpus Christi, Alonso (Nell) McKenzie, Franklin, LA., Joe McKenzie, Bloomingdale, Michigan, Homer McKenzie, Kansas and sisters, Pauline (Eliseo) Yruegaz, Minerva (Rene) Cardona, Alice, Texas and Eva (Victor) Vigil, Allegan Mi

Honorary Pall Bearer will be his grandson A.J. Tunchez.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
