Rev. Joseph Homer Garza

Rev. Joseph Homero Garza, born September 3, 193l, went to his celestial home on February 12, 2015. He is remembered by many for his faithfulness to the Lord, his love for his family, his cheerful personality and giving heart.

He was a member of Iglesia Bautista Estrella de Belén and served as music director. He pastored at Primera Iglesia Bautista of Sinton, TX and for several years, he served as a faithful deacon and interim pastor throughout.

As a young adult, he proudly served in the US Army.

He is preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Joshua J. Vidal and Noah I. Tamez, his parents, Braulio and Teofila Garza, three brothers and four sisters.

Rev. Garza is survived by his wife, Rosalia M. Garza, and children, Elizabeth Garza, Elda Goce (Stewart), Elida Luna, Eloisa Garza, Elva Garza, Elena Garza, Jose Garza, Jr, and Braulio Garza (Patsy); twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Primera Iglesia Bautista from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 1509 Tarlton St. with interment to follow at 12:00 noon at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
