

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rey Garcia Sr., who left this world on March 5th, 2025 at the age of 67. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, caring brother and loyal friend, he lived a life full of love, laughter and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.
Rey was the beloved husband of Gloria Garcia, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship through their beautiful 45 years of marriage. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, kindness, and countless memories. He was a proud and caring father to Rey Jr., who he guided with wisdom and love, and an adoring grandfather to Everly Garcia and Rey Garcia III, whose lives he brightened with his playful spirit and boundless affection. He now also has the pleasure of spending an eternity holding and caring for his eldest granddaughter in heaven, Emily Rae Garcia.
A caring and loving brother, he is survived by his three wonderful sisters and two devoted brothers, Maria Mayorga, Martha Garcia, Norma Valdez, Hilario Garcia, and Arnold Garcia, which whom he always spoke of with a proud smile and spark in his eyes.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Rey found joy in every game, whether cheering from the stands or watching from his favorite chair at home. His passion for competition and camaraderie was infectious, and he never missed an opportunity to share his love for the game with family and friends.
He also had a deep love for dogs, always finding comfort and companionship in their loyal presence. Whether taking the dogs for a drive, playing fetch, or simply sharing quiet moments together, his bond with his four-legged friends was a testament to his kind and gentle heart.
Rey will be remembered for his warm smile, his generous spirit, and the unwavering love he showed to everyone in his life. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Rey’s life will be held on Monday, March 17th, 2025 with a visitation at 5:00 pm and a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral service and interment will be on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025. All services to take place at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery.
