Reynalda "Bibi" Maldonado

Bibi was born on September 16, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Virgil and Sylvia Maldonado.

She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Maldonado; her niece, Amanda Maldonado; her nephew, Henry Limon; and her beloved best friend of more than 30 years, Gloria Fernandez.

Bibi dedicated several years of her life to working at the Juvenile Justice Center, where she had the opportunity to assist and support youth. Her compassion for others was an important part of who she was.

Bibi loved to travel, attend concerts, play sports, and attend professional sporting events. Some of her most treasured memories were the exciting experiences she had along the way. Among her sports highlights were attending a New York Yankees game in New York, attending a Spurs Finals game, and meeting Drew Brees at the New Orleans Saints training camp. One of her most memorable experiences was attending a Dallas Cowboys game, where she had the incredible opportunity to see Michael Jackson perform during the halftime show.

Yet, as much as Bibi enjoyed traveling to see professional athletes and teams, some of her most meaningful journeys were made in support of her own family. Throughout her travels, she spent countless days traveling to attend the games and sporting events of her nieces and nephews. She proudly showed up to cheer them on, support their accomplishments, and let them know that their Aunt Bibi was always in their corner. Whether the game was close to home or required a long trip, Bibi made the effort to be there. Her presence at those games was one of the many ways she showed her family just how much they meant to her.

To many in her family, Bibi was lovingly known as “Aunt Bibi.” She earned this cherished name through her endless compassion, generosity, and unconditional love for her family. Throughout her entire life, Bibi had a special way of showing her love through giving. She showered her family with gifts, always thinking of others and finding joy in making the people she loved feel special. Her generosity extended far beyond the gifts she gave. She gave her time, her kindness, her laughter, and, most importantly, her heart.

Being “Aunt Bibi” was more than a name; it reflected the love and warmth she brought into the lives of so many family members. She was the aunt who showed up, the aunt who cheered loudly, the aunt who remembered special occasions, and the aunt who never

hesitated to give. Her love was expressed in countless ways, creating memories that her family will cherish for years to come.

Bibi is survived by her siblings: Betty Benavidez; Virgil (Valerie) Maldonado; Diana (Raul) Limon; Nora (Robert Vela); Maggie (Zina) Maldonado; Sylvia (Roy) Maldonado; Lorena Maldonado; Sonia (Silmon) Maldonado; Adele Maldonado; Belinda Maldonado Rjasko; and Dondi Roger (Cindy) Maldonado.

Bibi will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, especially in the countless memories created through her generosity, laughter, compassion, adventurous spirit, unwavering support, and unconditional love.

Though she is no longer here to cheer from the sidelines, give a thoughtful gift, share a laugh, or join her family on another adventure, the love she gave so freely will remain with them forever.
