

Reynaldo Davila, 69, of Corpus Christi, Texas, who bravely battled cancer for three years went home to our Heavenly Father on September 6, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born on September 1, 1955, in Mathis, Texas, Rey was the cherished son of Pablo and Marcelina Davila.
Rey is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Yolanda Davila; his three precious daughters, Navy Chief Petty Officer Amanda Topping (Joey) of Virginia Beach, VA, Annette Alaniz (Jason) of Corpus Christi, Navy Chief Petty Officer Melissa Gray (Eric) of Jacksonville, FL, and his beloved son, Reynaldo Davila Jr.(Alyssa) of Corpus Christi. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren, Raelynn, Brandon, Myles, Mia, James, Ethan, Evan, Eric, Will, and a sweet baby girl due in November.
He is also survived by his sisters Irma Hinojosa and Mary Carreon, brother, Robert Davila and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rey is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Marcelina Davila, sisters, Delia Garcia, Maria Ilda Davila, Sylvia Davila and brother Paul Davila.
Rey was a 1975 graduate of Mathis High School. Proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corp and was a member of the Marine Corp League Coastal Bend Detachment 430 and a member of the Memorial Team. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Church in Corpus Christi. He worked for America National Insurance for 43 years.
Rey was a compassionate soul, always willing to give a helping hand. He had so many friends, that he seemed to know at least one person everywhere he went. He will be remembered as a very thoughtful, soft-spoken man who didn’t need or ask for much.
Rey's passion was fishing and his beloved lake house was his sanctuary. He also loved running and participated in over 30 Beach-to-Bay Relays in his lifetime. He enjoyed having a taco and a cup of coffee with his friends of many years. He loved his western movies, scratch-offs, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Rey barbequed for his family every chance he got as his family was his pride and joy and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Rey will be deeply missed by his loving family. We are most thankful to God for giving us the best husband, Dad, and Grandpa and he will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will take place on September 16, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial-Holly. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM that evening. On September 17, 2024, a Holy Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 PM at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, followed by interment at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors to be rendered.
