Ricardo Ramon Casares

A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many is now at rest. Ricardo was kind-hearted, charming, and full of character. He was an ambitious man who excelled as a salesman and built his own successful car business. On August 4, 1955, Ricardo and Maria Ernestina Salazar Casares were married and had five wonderful children. On September 29, 1969, Ricardo re-married to Dora Garcia Casares and had one daughter. Ricardo was devoted to all of his family, always ensuring they were well provided for. He taught his children to be strong, loyal, independent, and caring.

Our hearts are heavy as we bid farewell to Don Ricardo, but we know that his legacy will live on for generations to come. He is joined now in heaven by his parents, Ramon Sanchez and Elia Casares Velasquez; his two sons, Ricardo Casares Jr. and Ernesto Salazar Casares; his granddaughter, Valeria Casares; his brother, Jose Luis Velasquez; and his sisters, Dominga Gonzalez, and Sylvia Yolanda Sanchez.

Ricardo is survived by his children, Demetrio Casares, Debra Laurette Burdeshaw, Yvonne Casares Khan, Cristobal Salazar Casares, and Christine Naungayan; grandchildren, Demetrio Ramon Casares Jr., Clarissa Marie Casares, Aiden Eric Robles, Ava Laurette Robles, Ali Khan, Sarah Khan, Starr Long, Jessica Jairala, Christopher Casares Jr., and Regina Kent; siblings, Emma De La Garza, Otila Gonzalez, Rosa Vasquez, Juan Pablo Velasquez, Dolores Ballin, Juan Jose Velasquez, Armandina Godinez, Leticia Rivera, Rodolfo Velasquez, Cecilia Wright, Francisco Velasquez, Ramon Sanchez Jr.; daughters-in-law, Nora Elizabeth Casares and San Juanita Leal Casares; sons-in-law, Mahmood Khan, Jeffrey Burdeshaw; along with many great-grandchildren and a host of extended members of the family and friends whom he loved.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415, with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. that evening.

Viewing will be held at 8:00 a.m., and a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with the Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
