Ricardo M. Herrera

Ricardo M. Herrera, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Ricardo was born September 14, 1935 in Clarkwood, Texas. At the age of 17 years, he enlisted in the Marines Corp where he fought in the Korean War attaining the Rank of Corporal. Ricardo was a founding member of Glory Full Gospel Church Serving the Lord as an Elder and T. V. ministry for 31 years. Ricardo’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, “Greatest Dad & Popo”. He is preceded in death by his son, Samuel Sanchez; his brother, Proquinto Herrera and sister, Minerva Valadez. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita B. Herrera who he loved very much; his daughters, Lydia Lopez (Ignacio), Yolanda Sanchez (Daniel), Elva Garcia (Arnold); his sons, Richard Herrera (Nora) and Gilbert Leroy Herrera (Erica); also left behind to cherish his memories are his 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel with Interment to follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
