Rick was born in South Ruislip London, England while his father served in the US Air Force. A native of Corpus Christi, Rick graduated from W.B Ray High School in 1989. He went to Hallmark Vocational Technology and graduated with his Associates Degree in Business Medical. Rick is a lifetime fan of the True Blue Dallas Cowboys and passionate about the rock band Motley Crue. He had a love for all 80s music and huge fan of all types of movies. He loved to joke around and make people laugh and have fun. He has traveled all over the United States and had the opportunity to visit the state of California. He enjoyed the beautiful ocean view of California and visited numerous tour sites. He loved taking his dog Jade for very long walks while listening to his music.
He is preceded in death by his step-father, Richard Ries; Paternal grandparents Rosario and Julia Montes; Maternal Grandmother Josie M. Gomez.
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Mary Elsa Montes, daughter Demi Liane Montes. parents, Francisco Montes (Enriqueta), mother, Hermelinda (Richard) Sanchez Ries; one sister, Lilliana Gonzales of San Antonio; two brothers, George Gonzales & Daniel Gonzales of San Antonio and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and a special niece he grew very close too, Adrianna Rae Garcia.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
