Ricardo "Ricky" A. Castillo, aged 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas, returned to his heavenly home on April 7, 2024. Born on November 5, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Ricky lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his career, and the community that he served with distinction.
A proud graduate of Roy Miller High School followed by a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Texas A&I University - Kingsville in 1971, Ricky applied his passion for education and sports in his earlier years as a dedicated coach at South Park Jr. High and Martin Jr. High, leading his teams to city titles and leaving a lasting legacy in youth sports. He later embarked on a storied career in the Marine Shipping Industry, spanning over four decades with Atlantic Steamers, Coastal Bend Mooring, and Maritime Shipping Services.
Ricky is remembered with profound love and respect by a host of family members, including his daughter Debra "Christy" Castillo - Rivera, son-in-law Victor, son Richard John "RJ" Castillo, grandsons Ryan (Julia Bowman) Najar and Matthew Rivera, great-grandsons Noah and Alex Najar, brother Reynaldo "Rey" Castillo, sister-in-law MaryAnn, sisters Yolanda "Joli" Uresti and Cynthia "Cindy" Castillo, nieces and nephews Reynaldo Jr., Sabina, Rene, Lisa, and Jackie. He is united in eternity with his beloved wife, Bobbye Castillo.
Family, friends, and those whose lives Ricky touched are invited to Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM to reminisce, grieve, and support each other. A holy rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 3350 S. Alameda, Corpus Christi, TX, with a graveside service to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
