His family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Texas Adult Health & Activity Center for the care and support they provided to Richard throughout his time there.
In his youth, Richard attended in the Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center, a residential training facility that serves adults who are blind, in Austin, Texas, and learned skills to maintain employment for several years at the Lighthouse for the Blind.
He was a lifelong fan of football, following the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. Professional wrestling was also a big part of his life, and he enjoyed talking about recent matches. He also enjoyed playing and winning at Bingo and Loteria. He loved sharing good food with his family and friends, especially during the holidays, and also enjoyed listening to and playing music, reading, and coloring.
Richard had a special skill to remember key family events from the past and could recall details like the weather for just about any day. He was also a wonderful conversationalist who enjoyed chatting with friends and family about all sorts of topics like sports, politics, and music. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
